No maker mark. Overall length 35”. Curved blade 30.5 in length, 1.25 in width at base with single fuller extending with 9” of tip. Bright Gilt floral & military trophy etching on both side, near base, over by floral bluing extending 10” forward. Bright straight blade exhibits slight traces of pitting, with one minor ding. Original washer intact. Birds-head hilt assembly, with dark brass stirrup knuckle bow, cross guard, quillon, & back strap. Ribbed ivory grip with minor, unobtrusive 2” crack. Else VG and highly attractive.
Dark plum colored steel scabbard with throat, two carrying rings and flat flush drag at the tip. Exhibits two minor dings just above and below middle carrying ring. Also contains wooden filler strip for tight snug sword fit. All and all, a solid collectible, very nicely priced [jp]
