Maker-mark, obverse ricasso, “Tiffany & Co.” Spear pointed blade measuring 36” in length, 1.25” in width, with flat back extending 25” from ricasso toward the tip. Bright ding-free blade exhibits traces of condensation spotting, else VG plus. Leather washer present. Hilt is tight and symmetrical. Iron-work & back-strap & ears exhibit medium tarnish. Original is tight with light wear. Central strand brass wire with flanking outside strands, slightly loose near pommel. Bright scabbard displays two dings on each side, just above the drag, including a three inch patch of tarnish. Else VG & attractive. British P1821 Civil War cavalry war sabers are scarce. Superb collectible for Civil War cavalry buffs.
