Large curved horn, exhibiting dark yellowish patina, measuring 15” in length, 3” in width at base. Features carved holed-tip [for funnel loading], and carved wooden base secured by four original tack. Powder horns with these characteristics were common in the Philadelphia area during the 1770s and 80s. Exhibits light wear and scratches consistent with age and usage. Otherwise VG, solid and highly attractive. With attached [non-period] leather shoulder thong. Superb Rev-war era, Philadelphia area collectible. Nicely priced.
