Very scarce Confederate revolver cartridge pack consisting of a drilled wood block wrapped in paper and stenciled to denote its contents. This pack is for .36 caliber revolver cartridges. Portion of paper label torn off the front (left side) and missing but the majority of the stencil remains and is very readable: [6] CARTRIDGES [COL]TS NAVY PISTOL C.S. LABORATORY RICHMOND, VA.” Pack has been opened and no complete cartridges remain. Four of the original bullets from the pack are included. All are the “1st pattern” Richmond Colt bullet and all still have remains of cartridge paper attached, one of which actually has the majority of the cartridge remaining attached but the paper is too fragile to repair. Right edge of pack/wood block is broken out and missing, but now nicely shows how the fragile cartridges were contained within the drilled out wood block. Portions of paper wrap missing on the top and left & right sides. Pack measures 2.75” x 1.5” x 0.5”. Confederate cartridge packs (in any condition) are extremely hard to come by and this packet and its bullets make a nice display.
