Iron scissor-type mould to cast lead a lead round ball for muskets. Single cavity mould with spout and sprue cutter in handle. Cavity measures approximately 0.62”. The number “18” is stamped in handle which probably means “18 gauge” which equates to approximately the 0.62” measurement. This diameter bullet would be used in large .69 caliber smoothbore muskets like the French Charleville musket and US model 1842 musket. Some light surface rust. [jet]
