A scarce Confederate cartridge, this is the .40 caliber ammunition for the LeMat revolver. The LeMat carried nine shots in its revolving cylinder and also a single buckshot charge in a secondary smoothbore barrel.
This cartridge was made in the Richmond Laboratory. Cartridge has had some minor repairs. Very few specimens remain today. [jet]
