A two-cavity bullet mold for the Colt 1851 Navy Revolver casting one round ball and one elongated ball. The sprue-cutter is in place. The mold is crisply stamped with its “Colt’s Patent” stamp on the top and “36B” on one side, indicating it is for the .36 caliber belt pistol (rather than a .31 caliber pocket pistol, for instance.) This would rate in very good to excellent condition. The metal is smooth, with no pitting and retains about all of its blue with just some thinning on the bottom and exterior if the handles from sitting or casual handling, and a little brown coming up from underneath in a couple of spots. The first line of the Colt’s patent stamp is weak on the left, but the bottom line, “Patent” is sharp, as is the “36B” stamp on the side. This would suit a nice condition Colt Navy. [sr]
