Offered is a single action colt that was manufactured in 1898. It is a 6-shot .45-caliber revolver. The 5-1/2 inch barrel is marked COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD, Ct. U.S.A. in a single line. On the left side are the patent date markings, which has two lines of 1871, 1872 and 1875 and the rampant colt. Grips are checkered hard rubber. Serial number 177719 is stamped on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Gate is stamped 976.

Metal has not been cleaned. Has a trace of original finish throughout the revolver.  Grips show some wear and has one large and one chip on the butt.. Bore is bright and good rifling. Good working order.

A Colt letter stating that this revolver was one of 10 sent to Simmons Hardware Company St. Louis, Missouri on May 1, 1898 is also available.
