Exceptional example of a rare 9 mm pre-World War I Luger pistol. Principal markings include: "59641" (serial number); "DWM" (manufacturer); crown over "N" (commercial acceptance stamp). The condition is exceptional with 98% of blue remaining and 95% of the straw remaining! The pistol is fully functioning and the bore is also very nice. All the serial numbers match and the magazine is original with wooden tip (unnumbered mag, which is correct for a commercial Luger). The pistol was made by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM), Berlin, in 1911. DWM only manufactured 32,000 Model 1908 Lugers for the commercial market between 1908 and 1914 (SN 39142 - 71170), making this a rare Luger seldom offered in this condition!
This Luger is not an import and is NOT marked 'Germany.'
Pre-World War I Luger pistols in this condition rarely come on the market. Excellent opportunity to own a collector grade classic German Luger made shortly after it was introduced! (S.KN.)
