BROOKLYN ARMS COMPANY “SLOCUM” REVOLVER WITH REPRODUCTION WOOD CASE

$1,100.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 690-12

This revolver was manufactured between 1863 to 1864. The specimen we offer here is serial number 1223 of approx. 10,000. This is a .32 caliber weapon with a 5-shot cylinder and a 3-inch barrel. Each cylinder is an individual unit and will manually slide forward for loading and ejecting the rim fire cartridge. Frame is made of brass with silver plating with a scroll design. Walnut grips have more of a bag then a bird head shape. Barrel is nicely marked on top “B.A. CO. PATENTED APRIL 14, 1863.”

The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Some of the silver plating has worn off the frame but almost all the bluing on the barrel and cylinder remains. Action is crisp and clean and each cylinder moves as it should. Wood case meas. approx. 8.50 inches long x 5 inches wide x 1.75 inches tall. Hinges and lock are of brass. Green felt lining with cut out for revolver and wood block which contains 3 original rounds. Case also comes with key for lock. Case is well made with some dovetailing to corners.
