Standard lockplate markings: “US / SPRINGFIELD / 1872”, with Remington patent markings, and numeral “24”, and “US” butt plate.  Barrel and metal furnishings exhibit a light salt and pepper patina, with slight traces of pitting. Walnut stock and butt display minor bruises consistent with age and usage. Bore slightly pitted. Visible cartouche. Else VG, and attractive. Solid collectible.
