Two banded rifle meas. approx. 48.00 inches long overall. Barrel is 33.00 inches long and is octagonal at breech but round over the rest of its length. Caliber is .58. Barrel retains much of its original blue but it is thin in some areas. Rear sight is blued flip-up leaf with adjustable appture while the front sight is a blued iron blade sight. Left facet of the barrel at breech is stamped with #3367. This number is also stamped on each of the two barrel bands, lock and triggerguard tang. Forward of the bolster is a stamped circle with the letter “C” at center. Bore has great rifling and only light dust.

Typical Enfield lock and hammer with small amounts of case colors remaining. Action works properly but has a very low half-cock. Lock is crisply stamped behind the hammer with “1864” over “2” over “3367.”

Wood stock is in very nice condition with original finish. There are some minor signs of wear such as two small dents between the two barrel bands and one or two minor scratches. There are no cracks.

Iron ramrod has a brass tip with recessed face and a hole through the side. Opposite end has threads. Sling swivels are mounted on the lower barrel band and at rear of the blued trigger guard. Buttplate is also blued and bears the same serial #“3367” on the tang.

Screw heads show little if any wear.  [ad] [ph:L]
