A large limited edition Cold-cast bronze statue of Corporal W.B. Murphy, 2nd Mississippi, and Corporal Samuel Waller of the 6th Wisconsin, by renowned sculptor Ron Tunison (1947-2013), dated 1996. It depicts Waller trying to take the battle flag of the 2nd Mississippi from Murphy on the first day of the battle of Gettysburg. The sculpture stands 17 inches tall and measures 10 inches wide. It is number 26 of 350.
Tunison was known for the highly detailed bronzes he created, with four monuments on the Gettysburg, PA battlefield, one on the Antietam, MD battlefield and one at the entrance to the Museum of the Civil War Soldier near Petersburg, VA to his credit.
