These small wooden dough trays were made by the Jennie Wade House Museum and sold as souvenirs in memory of the only Gettysburg civilian killed during the battle. This tray is a little bigger than the later ones usually encountered. It measures 5 inches long at the top x 2.75 inches wide x 2.25 inches high. The piece comes with a detachable lid. Paper label on underside reads, “THIS IS A MODEL (WOOD FROM BATTLEFIELD) OF THE DOUGH TRAY AT WHICH JENNIE WADE, THE ONLY CIVILIAN KILLED DURING THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG, WAS WORKING AT THE TIME OF HER DEATH. THE ORIGINAL CAN BE SEEN AT THE JENNIE WADE HOUSE, GETTYSBURG, PA”
Item is in good condition with no dings or cracks, just a very small piece of veneer is missing from edge of lid. [sl]
