Excavated New York State seal button in good condition. Coat size with bent shank. Smooth patina with some gilt visible under dirt. Extra Quality backmark. Recovered from Excelsior Field area of the second days battlefield.

From the collection of Ron Miller, brother of noted Gettysburg relic hunter Ed Miller. Ron was born in Gettysburg and was a teacher by profession. He walked and hunted the surrounding farm fields his entire life in search of relics. He was a member of the Adams County Historical Society and the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania. [jet] [ph:L]
