This cover has a full color print along one edge that shows the highlight of Pickett’s Charge. The scene was taken from the famous Gettysburg Cyclorama by Paul Philippoteaux now on display at the Visitor’s Center of Gettysburg National Military Park. Above the battle scene is “1863 CENTENNIAL 1963” while below it is “BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG / OFFICIAL FIRST DAY COVER/ GETTYSBURG BATTLEFIELD PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION/ GETTYSBURG, PA.”

At center of the cover is a circular post mark that reads “GETTYSBURG/JUL 1/ 9-AM/1963/ PA.” The upper right corner has a 5 cent stamp that shows a Union and Confederate soldier struggling hand to hand and they are flanked by the dates “1863-1963.” Below the stamp is another mark that reads “FIRST DAY OF ISSUE.”

Item is in good clean condition.
