Following graduation from Bowdoin College, Chamberlain attended the Bangor, ME, Theological Seminary, before returning to Bowdoin as a professor, soon after to become Colonel of the 20^th Maine, which he would lead to glory at Gettysburg, in defense of Little Round Top, receiving a Congressional Medal of Honor.
