Small, ornate brass frame houses a strand of hair that was taken from a lock of hair that the General himself presented to a friend on April 19, 1869 in Lexington, Virginia. Letters of provenance by Charles Hamilton of Christie’s of New York and Louis Mushro of The Manuscript Society accompany this item.
