CDV is slightly larger than normal size and is of a bearded man in a dark civilian suit with a dark bowtie.
Image has good clarity and contrast. Paper and mount are good with the normal surface dirt from age and storage.
Reverse has photographer’s imprint for PURVIANCE…PITTSBURGH. Above in faint period pencil is “TOMMY P. ??? APRIL 1863.” Below this is an ink inscription that reads “RECEIVED AT MURFREESBORO TENNESSEE APRIL 4th 1863 IN LETTER. MAJ. GEN. ROSECRANS HEADQUARTERS APRIL 5th 1863.” [ad]
