Black hard rubber syringes from various makers were available for various medical procedures.  Among those procedures were for rectal infusion of liquids, application of medication to the eyes, ears, and other orifices.

Dark brown hard rubber syringe measures approximately 6.5” long overall. It has a reservoir that is 5.5” long and 0.75” in diameter. Plunger has turned, flat handle on end and works properly. This style has no screw-on tip, instead the reservoir has a smooth, round end with 8 small holes. The plunger end screws on/off.

Syringe is stamped on the reservoir in small letters, “I.R. COMBS CO GOODYEAR 1851”.
