Doubtless one of the finest examples extant. The piece was professionally restored a number of years ago and remains in pristine, almost new condition. Measures 20” overall, with a copper body with brass trim including 1 3/8” floating rim. All keys with perfect restored pads. Overall just one small dent, 9” from the bell. Mouthpiece is a later replacement, probably from a cornet. Else perfect condition with clearly defined dovetail seam. A remarkable example of a rare early 19th century musical instrument.
