Nice condition white buff leather sword belt. Measures approximately 40” long with buckle. Belt is just a hair under 2” wide. White buff leather is soiled and slightly stiff. Short and long straps remain complete with all brass hooks, studs, and rings. No Sam Brown shoulder strap.
Oval “US” Dragoon buckle has puppy-paw hooks. The brass face has been shined. Face exhibits wear and small dings from use. Most of the thin leather backing remains. The belt hook broke off and has had a “field repair” to make it serviceable. A stiff wire has been shaped and attached in such a way so as to use the belt buckle. This type of repair seems more typical of Confederate usage.
Beautiful belt set in good condition. [jet]
