Black leather holster in good condition. Leather is soft and supple with some light surface crazing throughout. There is some minor loss of surface finish scattered here and there but not concentrated in any one area.
The edge seam of the body is solid and the plug is in place at the bottom but pushed out a little with some split threads. Brass finial is present. Flap has latch tab sewn and riveted in place. The tab itself is worn but complete. Flap edge has some minor red rot wear and one small edge crack.
Back has a slightly worn belt loop that is sewn and riveted. Above the center rivet is boldly stamped “E. GAYLORD.” Faintly seen below this is “CHICOPEE…”
Holster is attached to a waist belt that is supple but missing most of its surface finish. Belt is complete but does have an old cloth tape repair near the holster. Belt has the original brass keeper and an original oval Pattern 1839 belt plate with both arrow hooks and tongue and 100% lead fill. [ad] [ph:L]
