White buff leather is in excellent condition. The belt is constructed in three sections which are connected by two square brass rings. Hanging from the rings is a white buff frog for a Model 1832 Artillery short sword. Frog has a split from the top of the stud hole to the top edge of the frog but it will still hold a sword if desired.

The plate is the Model 1839 sword belt plate consisting of a circular cast brass tongue with “US” and a plain wreath of the same material. Both sections of the plate match in regards to patina and fit perfectly.

Belt also has two leather keepers. One behind the tongue which is adjustable and one fixed keeper behind the brass size adjustment hook. [ad] [ph:L]
