Maker-stamp: (interior flap) “R.H. Dingee/ N-York.” Leather supple throughout, but with flaking of front flap and along lower edge. Slight cracking throughout, front finial strap torn; interior flaps exhibit light rubbing. Tight stitching throughout, reverse straps solid. Lower roller buckles and finial intact. Tins present and clean. US box plate, smooth with minor dings, exhibiting dark coppery patina. Attaching leather thong missing. Else VG and attractive. Very solid display box. [jp]
