CONFEDERATE PERCUSSION CAP POUCH

$1,100.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 33-247

This is a nice example of a Confederate-made percussion cap pouch. In good condition, this pouch looks much like its northern counterpart.  The outer flap is in good condition with surface crazing. The latch tab is sewn to the underside of the flap and is unbroken. A lead finial is mounted on the bottom.  The single belt loop is of thin leather and 1 ½” wide…a definite Confederate characteristic. Belt loop is sewn to the back of the pouch. There is a very thin inner flap that retains both side “ears”.  No original lamb’s wool. Many percussion caps remain inside. All stitching is complete and tight.

This is a typical Confederate percussion cap pouch with lead finial and single, wide belt loop.   [jet]
