This is a Civil War-era percussion cap pouch. The leather shows wear overall. This pattern has the “square” outer flap with closing tab sewn to the underside. The latch tab is complete but broken at the hole. The interior flap has both “ears” firmly sewn in place. Some fleece remains. Bottom has brass finial. Both narrow belt loops remain in place on back and are stitched and riveted in place.  All stitching is strong and intact.
