The leather exterior of this box is in very nice condition with very little wear. Surface is very clean with just small amounts of verdigris around brass rivets. At center of the exterior is an oval plate with a script “NG.” Latch tab has the proper brass escutcheon and shows small amounts of crazing. Brass finial is present at top of the box. Reverse has both belt loops that are in excellent condition.

Interior of the box is also in nice condition with a strong patent date mark and a good maker’s mark of “McKENNEY & CO. NEW YORK.” Wood block is present and is capable of holding 18 rounds.

Brass hinges on the lid operate well.  [AD]
