Presented here is a set of unexcavated, intact brass cavalry spurs commonly used during the Civil War. Spurs are the large size (4" across the boot opening) Federal regulation and are void of any visible markings. Each spur shank exhibits strap loop cutouts with squared inside corners and a brass rowel attached to the each neck. Both spur shanks also exhibit a five-point floral display below the rowel. Rowels spin freely but one is worn down to the nubs. These spurs present a clean design with flowing lines and both are strong, well made and shows just slight bends at the strap loop cutouts. Spurs measure approximately 5" long. Brass wears a pleasing bronze patina. These original brass military spurs are a great cavalry collectable and would make a fine addition to any Civil War cavalry display or collection.
