Beautiful brass antique spyglass/telescope. Constructed of brass with a cord wrap around the body. Complete – five sections with lens covers. It retains clear optics and is in perfect working order. The original cord wrap is in excellent condition. Maker’s marking, “McAllister et Brother / Philadelphia” is engraved on first section.
Measures approximately 12.5” when collapsed and is 44” when fully extended. It is about 2.75” in diameter.
The focus is adjusted by extending the spyglass, fixing on an object in the distance, and then slowly shortening the length of the last section until a clear view is achieved.
A great telescope. [jet] [ph:L]
