When opened the lantern meas. approx. 3.00 inches wide x 3.75 deep x 5.25 inches tall. Two sides have windows with a gold stenciled linear decoration. The third side is solid with the same gold decoration around the edges with “MINOR’S PATENT JAN. 24, 1865” stenciled at center. The decoration is very visible throughout and the Patent information is strong.
The back panel is solid with a looped handle at one edge. This back panel swings open to expose the inside of the lantern. Attached to the inside of the back door is a small holder for extra candles.
