This clay pipe has a complete stem and the bowl is the figure of a man chopping wood.
The stem has a rolled edge at the mouth and is approx. 4.75 inches long. Wrapped around the stem is an old paper label that reads “WALLY FRANK LTD.” The bowl decoration is a caricature of a lumber jack with a large head and a small body wearing stocking cap. The large head is the pipe bowl. At the base of the bowl is the lumberjack’s arm which holds an ax that he has driven into the stem.
This is a very interesting little piece in good condition.
