Two color map titled “MAP OF THE PRICIPAL MARCHES OF THE FIFTEENTH PENNSYLVANIA CAVALRY IN THE CAMPAIGNS OF THE ARMY OF THE CUMBERLAND.”

The map is framed and meas. approx.20.25 x 18.00 inches. The map covers from Mississippi in the west to Georgia and the Carolinas in the east and from Kentucky and Virginia in the north to Alabama and Georgia in the south. Terrain features are marked in black while the route of the 15th Pennsylvania Cavalry is marked in red.

Map is very clean with 2 horizontal fold lines and one vertical but these are very faint. Map is framed in a modern wood frame with a 1.50 inch burnt orange border.

Item is ready for hanging.

The 15th Pennsylvania Cavalry was mustered in on October 1, 1862 and was assigned to the Army of the Cumberland. It was present at Stones River, Mossy Creek and Loudon Heights. Several companies acted as scouts and several acted as escort for General Rosecrans. The regiment was mustered out at Nashville, Tennessee on June 21, 1865.

During its service the regiment lost 128 officers and men killed, died of wounds and disease. [ad]
