Post-war bust view wearing civilian clothing. Printed on the bottom border of the mount is, “AMOS L. COREY, Co. D.”; handwritten in front is “Corpl”. BM: French, Keene, NH.  Pair of period ink inscriptions on reverse:  “Amos L. Corey / West Swanzey, N.H. / Co D 2d Regt. N.H. Vol. / Paid 50. / Nov. 13, 1890”; “Amos L. Corey / West Swanzey / New Hamp. / _____ Co. D 2d ______ N.H. Vols.”

Overall very good, clean condition. Sharp, clear image with excellent contrast. Minor wear and staining to lower edge of mount.

Amos L. Corey was a 24 year old resident of Marlborough, NH when he enlisted on 9/9/61 as a Private. On 9/17/61 he mustered into Co. D, 2nd NH. Wounded on 5/5/62 at Williamsburg, VA.  Discharged for disability on 2/2/63 at Philadelphia. After the war he resided in Swanzey, NH. He died on 3/11/1907 and is buried in Graniteville Cemetery in Marlborough. [ld]
