Image shows Old Abe perched on his stand consisting of a patriotic shield of red & white stripes with a blue field and white stars. Abe’s wings are down giving his body a brown appearance with white tail feathers peeking out underneath. The bird has his white head turned and is looking defiantly over his right shoulder.

Colors are nice and bright.

Reverse has printed text explaining that Abe was a live eagle who served during the war with the 8th Wisconsin Infantry and says that these cards are being sold at the May 30, 1865 Chicago Sanitary Fair to raise money for that organization.  [ad]
