CDV shows a soldier posed by a chair. He wears a dark overcoat with French knot closures. The overcoat is open showing the soldiers white shirt and dark military vest and trousers. His left hand is in his trouser pocket and in his right, he holds a slouch hat with attached hat cord.
Image is very clear with good contrast. Paper and mount have only minor surface dirt.
