This CDV view of Jefferson Davis is one of the most reproduced images of the Confederate President. The image shows Davis from just below the waist up. He is standing in partial profile tom the left in a dark suit and white shirt with one hand resting on a book on a table.
The reverse of the image is rather interesting. It has a back mark that reads E. & H. T. ANTHONY…FROOM A BRADY NEGATIVE. What makes this item a little more interesting than usual is a small pink label attached below the back mark. This label reads “WILLIAM SMITH ….43 LORD STREET, LIVERPOOL.”
The image has good contrast with only light surface dirt around the edges.
