CDV is of the famed Matthew Brady image of Abraham Lincoln with his son Tad. The mount has an embossed shield design around the image. This was produced during the mourning period after Lincoln’s assassination.
Reverse is marked with the photographer’s imprint which reads, “SALISBURY, BRO. & CO., MANUFACTURERS OF GOLD AND GOLD PLATED JEWELRY. ALSO, CARTE DE VISITES OF AL NOTED PERSONS. TRADE LIST SENT FREE. PROVIDENCE, R.I.”.
Image is clear with good contrast. Surface has some light dirt from age.
Superb collectible for Lincoln and Lincoln assassination buffs.
