This Union soldier strikes a Napoleonic pose while leaning against a column. He sports a mustache with just a thin vertical strip of beard on his chin. He wears a dark shell jacket with Veterans service stripes on each sleeve and matching dark trousers. Visible on his left chest is a shield shaped ID disc.
Clarity and contrast are good as is the paper and mount.
Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for WM. STROUD… NORRISTOWN, PA. and a canceled blue tax stamp. [ad]
