Early image, circa 1848, shows a waist up view of a young lady wearing a printed dress with trim on the sleeves and white collar. She wears a large ribbon tie with brooch that has been highlighted by the photographer. Her arm rests on a table and she holds a book on her lap. Image is clear with good contrast. Some light surface dirt on the image. Some light oxidation has occurred on mat and plate.
Image comes housed in decorative mat and frame in half leatherette case. Case shows minor wear. [sl]
