Image is clear with good contrast. Some light oxidation has occurred.
Image comes housed in full pressed paper case, which is in good condition. Case is lined in faded red velvet which has an embossed design. Decorative brass mat surrounds the image. In the bottom inside of the case is written in period pencil, “Taken at Fr_______burg / 1854”.
This daguerreotype was part of a unique collection of images that featured animals. [sm]
