Union case is meant to house four ninth-plate images. Cover shows a raised image of an antebellum mother holding her daughter on her lap with a cat and a dog. One corner at the lower back has a piece that has broken, but otherwise, case is in good condition. Hinges and clasps fully function.
Tintype image shows a young man wearing a dark colored civilian frock coat with light colored vest, white shirt and cravat. It is clear with good contrast. Image is under glass and brass mat. Some oxidation has occurred. [sl]
