Item is a CDV card with a gem size image of a Union artilleryman attached. Image shows a young soldier wearing a dark slouch hat with crossed cannons on the crown and an artillery shell jacket.
Image has good clarity but contrast is dark. Photo is mounted to the CDV card by two slits cut into the mount through which two flaps of the brass mat pass through and are bent over. Mount has a printed frame at center surrounding the image.
Top mount corners have been clipped and there is also some light surface dirt.
Reverse is blank except for the initials “H.S” in top right corner. [AD]
