This brass rosette is of a style frequently found on Civil War battlefield and campsites. The face is brass with raised concentric circles. The back is lead filled with an iron keeper attached. The brass face has darkened and the edges have discolored.
Written on the reverse in black ink is “SPOTSYLVANIA 4/12/66.”
This item is part of a small group of relics we acquired that once belonged to the late Mac Mason who is well-known for his early work in the Civil War relic field.
