Excavated iron blade for a pike. Blade is double edged and tapers to a point. Overall length is 19” with the tang being 6 ½” and the blade being 12 ½” long. Tang is just over 1” wide and ¼” thick. Two wide iron rings which secured the blade to a long pole are present and still held in place by iron rivets that extent through the tang. Pikes are old-school weapons but are known to have been used in the Revolution and as late as the Civil War. This style blade is very similar to one deaccessioned from the Fort Ticonderoga Museum. All iron parts are in relic condition, but are clean and stable. [jet]
