Bayonet has a blade section that is made of one solid piece of triangular shaped iron. All three surfaces of the blade are smooth and minus any fullers. Blade section has a broken tip and has been curved into a hook shape. Blade meas. approx. 12.00 inches in length.

Socket is definitely for a .69 musket and measures just over 2.50 inches long. Socket has the lug arch and mortise. There was no locking ring.

Item was dug in an unknown location and has been cleaned to remove all dirt and rust. Surfaces are bare metal with moderate scattered pitting in areas.

Very interesting Confederate relic.   [ad]
