Excavated iron pike or spontoon head looks like a rusty spear tip.  Relic is 13 inches long and socket end is 1 ¾” wide.  Heavily rusted, this has been coated and appears stable.  Old typed labels, one glued on top of the other, read: “French Revolutionary War NCO Bridle Cutting (pike) Spontoon Head found … Bottom’s Bridge, Virginia on June 3, 1982. Campsite of Lafayette’s Troops after Battle of Yorktown in 1781.” Interesting Revolutionary War relic.   [jet]
