EXCAVATED RELIC M1849 POCKET COLT REVOLVER

$325.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 287-11

This sidearm is a Colt Model 1849 Pocket revolver in good relic condition recovered from an unknown location. The heavily rusted, frozen Colt revolver retains its 4” long octagonal barrel with scant remains of the maker’s address on the top flat.  Artifact has its original loading lever but is minus the lock under the barrel muzzle. Wedge, loading lever, cylinder, hammer and trigger all frozen. Wedge screw missing. Unloaded, unrebated cylinder with nipples intact with no caps. Partial remains of the Colt maker’s line and serial # 9104 visible on the cylinder. Scene is rusted out. Hammer, cylinder, trigger loading lever frozen in place. Wood grips are completely missing. Frame shows the complete serial number of #309104 though it is very weak.  Last four digits visible on the brass triggerguard as well as the small “.31 CAL”. Serial number indicates a late production piece from the 1st / 2nd quarter of 1868.  A great Colt M1849 revolver relic.
