Dark gray wool, with black outer band, black leather chinstrap anchored with eagle buttons, plus “N.C.” brass letters (3/8”) atop front crown. Black silk inner lining is partly detached round lower edges, but firmly fastened to crown disc. Outer wool exhibits one tiny moth nip. Stiff visor firmly attached, exhibits slight cracking & slight wear around stitched edge. Otherwise VG. Solid post-war North Carolina collectible. [jp]
