Regulation U.S 1889 model hat, w/”snowflake” side vents, ribbon bow, and three-row stitching round the outer edge--approximately size 6 ¾. Dark brown hat exhibits wear & moderate soiling throughout, two small holes on left brim—while remaining supple and intact. Inner leather sweat band present, but nearly detached. Two small brass numerals, “89”, adorn the front, which invite further research. This hat exudes considerable “Boys of ‘98” character. Solid display piece. Campaign hat aficionados take note. [jp]
